When a customer visits your website, it’s because they’re looking for something only YOU can offer them.
The real question is… how easy is it for them to find what they’re looking for?
From budget marketplaces with thousands of freelancers to choose from, to drag-n-drop site builders, anyone can get a website up and running in almost no time at all these days.
But just because anyone CAN, doesn’t mean just anyone should.
If you’re here, your site isn’t performing the way it should.
Maybe traffic is down… maybe sales are down… maybe things just aren’t working the way they’re supposed to.
You need more than just another web designer… you need someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
A Web Designer…
A UX Designer…
UX (user experience) Design is about so much more than just the colors or words on a page.
It’s about understanding who your ideal customer is, and how every aspect of a design influences how they get from Point A to Point B.
In other words… it’s about the JOURNEY your customer needs to take.
My job as a UX Designer is taking your customer by the proverbial hand, and leading them to your desired destination – whether that’s to generate a lead, a sale, or just to educate them on a particular topic.
I take a holistic approach to meeting the challenges my clients face. A client may think they just need a site redesign, but once we dive in, it’s clear they need a more streamlined navigation process, or more persuasive copy, or an email pipeline to drive potential customers toward a sale.
Every project starts with an initial determination call where you and I walk through your current challenges, and discuss your ultimate goals. From there, we develop a game plan to build a solution that will meet your needs.
As you can see, my life isn’t all just playing with crayons, or late-night coding sessions fueled by caffeine and snacks…
It’s research and writing…
designing and testing…
and countless hours spent getting everything JUST RIGHT before handing it off to you, the client.
OVERVIEW: Homebuyer Assistance Program required a bottom-up marketing package designed to attract potential buyers with damaged credit.
ROLE: UX Research, UX/UI Designer, Copywriter, Video Creation & Editing
CHALLENGE: Program was a new homebuyer’s assistance program geared toward buyers with damaged credit histories. In addition to needing to attract qualified buyers, all marketing materials needed to comply with state and federal legal requirements for financial services.
FUNCTIONALITY: In addition to being informative, website needed to accept and process secure applications, guide users through the qualification process, and provide follow-up at each stage of acceptance.
Additionally, an agent onboarding portal was required, along with educational materials for buyers, agents, investors, and loan brokers.
ASSETS CREATED: Logo; responsive WordPress website; training materials – print and digital; video info-presentations; Site and training copy; Video scripts; Email sequence design & copy
Note: This client and I went on to create many projects together, both print and digital. Additional examples available upon request.
OVERVIEW: Established realty in Crivitz, WI has a static website which hasn’t been updated since the early aughts, has no search functionality, and is non-responsive.
ROLE: UX/UI Designer
CHALLENGE: Owner is older and uncomfortable with most tech, so needs as much of the website to be automated as possible.
Due to the age of the site, they currently hold the number one slot for several key search terms, and it’s important to maintain that after the redesign.
FUNCTIONALITY: The two most important features needed are a responsive design, and the ability for users to search properties. Of secondary importance is the ability to import listings automatically from the MLS so that she doesn’t have to manually input every single property.
ASSETS CREATED: Logo; responsive WordPress website
Note: Ultimately the owner chose to go with someone cheaper. Although the design was indeed updated, none of the aforementioned functionality was implemented, so users still have no way to search properties. Additionally, the new site was not optimized and most of their content was removed, so the owner has lost all of their SERP positions.
OVERVIEW: Small town nursing home needs an updated, responsive design to replace their outdated site.
ROLE: UX/UI Designer
CHALLENGE: Website is currently built on an outdated version of WordPress, using a non-responsive, Artisteer-type template.
Most of the navigation is no longer functional, and the site is almost impossible to navigate.
FUNCTIONALITY: The most important functionality is navigation, since it currently isn’t possible to view all of the organization’s services. Additionally, the site doesn’t work at all on mobile, so responsiveness is a must.
ASSETS CREATED: Responsive WordPress website, updated to the latest version.
